Program Description
Wearable technologies are being developed to address unmet medical needs for patients requiring continuous monitoring and care. The ability to non-invasively collect data on patients in clinical settings and at home is changing the way clinical trials are performed, and enabling development of better treatments.  Wearables are playing a key role in the advancement of digital health.

This forum will look at current trends in wearable medical devices. The regulatory challenges and pathways to approval for these devices and combination products will be discussed. Strategies for product development and clinical validation will be reviewed. Business models to bring wearables to market will be presented, particularly for chronic conditions requiring continuous monitoring at home.

Presentations at this forum will discuss:
  • The current trends in wearable medical devices
  • The regulatory challenges and pathways to approval for these devices and combination products
  • Strategies for product development and clinical validation
  • Successful business models to bring wearables to market
